2024 marked the beginning of our capital campaign. With plans to renovate a 70-year-old shelter into a modern-day safe haven for animals in our care. Being awarded $482,491.50 from Gov. Hochul through the Companion Animal Capital Fund. This meant we were 75% complete for raising the crucial funds for this project.
When we received a challenge grant from a local foundation stating, if we raised $80,000 by December 31st, they would match the $80,000.
With 6 months to complete the challenge grant, we turned to you, our loyal supporters through your unwavering and passionate support for homeless and abused animals.
We were able to raise $95,750.
This would mean not only did we meet the needs of the challenge grant, but we were fully funded for our Capital Campaign. As we look into 2024 we will continue to work with New York State on completing the renovations for new dog kennels, a new veterinarian clinic, an HVAC system, and more.
